Canvas works

Hello, I am Vladimira - an artist from Bulgaria who balances minimalism and kitsch, blending symbolic and light-hearted elements in my vibrant, high-contrast canvas paintings.

In my practice as a tattoo artist, I use clean lines and only black ink to highlight the body's unique shapes and movements. This absence of color allows my tattoo designs to float dynamically across the skin.

On canvas, I extend my lines beyond the edges, inviting Viewers to imagine the rest of the narrative. Often used are elements reminding us of nature, plants, and flowers! Each piece tells a story, capturing emotions and moments we often keep hidden, offering a glimpse into our unspoken experiences.

SAME SAME, BUT DIFFERENT!

As a visual creator, it is a sublime moment to realize that the chance of my “new idea” to already exist in the world is enormous. Ideas want to happen, and they will make their way out through me or anyone else who gives them the needed attention.

This painting is a representation of this feeling of acceptance, that everything I create is based on everything I have seen. It replaces the fear with admiration. Every new idea is a replica of the world around me, a scream from the world inside me, and a call from my inner child searching for answers. I am as I am, and no one is like me!

There is no nothing

This artwork was created during the Covid19 pandemic. As I have just graduated with Interior Architecture, there was a low chance for me of finding a job during the pandemic, so I decided to go back to my country and wait for the unexpected together with my family. These were unique times, yet the reactions of many were similar.

I got invited to join a collab exhibition of young people, all of us Bulgarians studied design and applied arts abroad. We were all back home and brought the flair of Austrian, German, Dutch and French universities to our hometown. The exhibition was sponsored by and held at Goethe-Institut Bulgaria in Sofia. There was a topic given to all the 18 artists: Leap into the void, by Yves Klein.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
